01 / The official narrative
Each version keeps SPREEAI at the center while adapting the story for editorial, executive, and live-event use.
John Imah is the Co-Founder and CEO of SPREEAI, the AI fashion-commerce unicorn building technology that helps shopping understand the individual. SPREEAI brings together photorealistic try-on, fit and sizing intelligence, styling, personalization, wardrobe intelligence, product understanding, and cross-brand commerce. A lifelong technologist who built his first companies as a teenager, Imah now works where artificial intelligence, fashion, and human behavior meet—shaping the infrastructure for a more personal global retail experience.
John Imah is the Co-Founder and CEO of SPREEAI, the AI fashion-commerce unicorn building a more personal and intelligent future for shopping. SPREEAI is developing the infrastructure for retail to understand both the product and the person: how something looks, how it fits, how it works with an individual’s style, and what may give them the confidence to choose it. Its platform spans photorealistic try-on, fit and sizing intelligence, styling, personalization, wardrobe intelligence, product understanding, and cross-brand commerce.
Profoundly gifted from childhood, Imah learned differently. He developed an unusual ability to absorb new systems, recognize patterns, and connect ideas across disciplines with exceptional speed. Growing up in Dallas, he took apart and successfully reassembled his family’s computer at seven. By his early teens, he was teaching himself to code. At 15, he launched and sold his first technology business, followed by a mobile gaming venture at 16. He later attended the University of Texas at Arlington, studying business administration and management information systems.
His career went on to span leadership roles at some of the world’s most influential technology companies, including Samsung, Take-Two Interactive, Amazon/Twitch, Meta, and Snap. Across those companies, he worked at the intersection of technology, products, partnerships, commerce, gaming, and culture. The experience gave him a clear view of how new technology moves from technical possibility to global behavior—and how enduring companies are built around that shift.
Imah’s range extends beyond technology. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays French horn, trumpet, and piano, and he designs and constructs clothing from scratch. Music, engineering, and garment design each demand an instinct for structure, proportion, rhythm, and the relationship between individual parts—an instinct that now informs how he thinks about SPREEAI.
SPREEAI is the expression of that perspective. Its purpose is not simply to add AI to the existing shopping journey, but to rethink the journey around the individual. Imah’s recognition includes Observer’s AI Power Index, AFROTECH’s Future 50, Inc.’s Best in Business, and The American Reporter’s Top 15 Entrepreneurs. He has also been profiled by GQ South Africa and appeared at the Met Gala in custom looks that connected his Nigerian heritage with technology-inspired design.
His signature phrase, “Aspire to inspire before you expire,” captures the principle behind his work: influence matters most when it expands what other people believe is possible.
